How to print a receipt?

Hi, for the past week, have been evaluating Freemed to see if it will work in our practice. I have been very impressed and think it is superior to other opensource EMR software packages. There does appear to be one major oversight unless I'm just missing something. There is no way to print a receipt for a patient. I have patients that need receipts and or statements to show payment history for reimbursement from FLEX plans but the statement function seems only to be available for when there is an open balance. Any suggestions, or is this just not currently available?
I saw one other post on this topic but there was no reply to it.
Thanks for any help!

I don't think you can print patient statement (that can be used for flex accounts as receipt) before you enter procedure into the system. Beside, flex account people always need "services provided information" anyways.
See my comment below. I want a statement (or receipt) that shows procedure, then payment, then zero balance. Once the account balance is at zero, the option to print a statement is not available. (I guess the statement function is solely for billing purposes) So the question is how else could it be done? Thanks for any help!
The only place that I know that will show all account activity is the ledger screen. You select view/modify from "transactions" module or you can get there from other places. Once there, select "ledger closed" option and it will show all transactions for this patient.
I found no easy way to print it so far.
Hope this helps
Are you wanting to print a receipt (like a copayment) from the patient before ever entering a charge for that date of service?
Just want a simple receipt that shows procedure and payment with a zero balance. What would be even more ideal is to be able to print a statement that shows all account activity.
If I post either a payment or a procedure, I'm provided with the option to generate a statement so long as the account balance is not zero. If the balance is zero you can't print them a statement or receipt! I'm sure I must be missing something.
